Our new Learning & Development Manager, Debbie Holmes has been investigating the deeper training needs of all Woodford employees during the first three months of her time with us. Since meeting all Heads of Departments, Managers, Directors and apprentices and many in between, Debbie has developed a comprehensive training programme for the next 12 months that will improve our all-round skill set as well as injecting real insight and elevation of management both on site and in the office. Reviewing last year’s personal development plans was also very helpful for her and now we have a training plan for the year that reflects our team’s needs. We’ve discussed team requirements, individual needs, professional qualifications, apprenticeships and compulsory compliant training. There’s quite a list to get through. Working for Woodford means that we are always striving for improvements as individuals and as a business. We have to trust one-another to get the job done to a high standard – and safely too. Safe Start, Safe Finish, Never Ignore.It’s still a strange world for learning professionals right now – Debbie is used to training rooms full of expectant learners and she has adapted well to training virtually, together but in small groups, coaching over the telephone and using our e-learning platform more effectively. The recipients of this training will have the opportunity to use their new skills to improve performance and to take advantage of any promotions that come available internally. We are all looking forward to our training and the many benefits it brings.
